For now, I would consider returning to the old media Relevancy. Every time a new way of communication has come together, people have heralded the death of president of technology. Radio will be changed newspaper. TV or radio will not be the position of the TV movie. Internet will be the position of all. Social networks of people could be at the meeting obsolete. The fact is, we increase the battery means of communication, but we don t have to kujikwamua very old equipment or we can integrate with the old and the new building even stronger platform.
Communication was an old building relationships between organizations and people who can pay attention to them. Which requires a list of good TV, newspapers, radio and author information periodically. The need to ensure that you are always in their pitching can use, and do not forget about this one. Also need to develop a relationship for a long time until you or your organization must include one to comment, quote or contacts.
There is a very expensive sector of the daily press (the type where subscription is $3,000 year) and that my relationship is important developments. I began by inviting the editor of one of our meetings and followed up with a man and a meeting he and several workers. I'm sure they get every press release we sent out. Did not take long so that I often called upon to comment on the issue or story. This publication and given over at the table on Capitol Hill staff, that our presence was a coup.
And while the new media, especially in the Blogosphere, improved print publications, the concept is the same. Organizations today need a good list of reputable, reliable Bloggers get their message out, and organizations need to develop relationships and Blogger in the old ways, and one person at a time.
If you don t have a list of media writers and old journalist, get one. If your organization is a local company, that t should be too hard. If your organization is national in scope, there are companies that sell you a list. The Bloggers need a bit more because you have to go find it and sometimes you do not t always get their contact information easily.
If I had come back tired waiting for the TV to find your organization, I have the perfect solution. There are thousands of Public, Education and Government access television station in the country. These centers are filled with a lot of talk show producers. Call center and ask for contact producers, who can do this type of public affairs show that would fit well with your organization? How you can show that the visitors? Large organizations with the ability to invest more than $15,000 and $20,000 to produce a thirty-minute segments and then distribute it to stations around the country. One of my clients, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, is dependent on the programs of 457 channels available in the country. Each air channel program about 12 times a month. Return to the federal government is now more than $10 million dollars in free airtime. Access channels are always looking for content and for-profit organization that most of the content.
I love all the new ways we can communicate, there are many new tools are changing the way business Nonprofits and how to get their stories out unique. But, as we celebrate the wonderful world of cyberspace, we must not forget the power of old media, the need for well-written press releases and key relationships and ensure they work within it.
So...what does your media list look like?
