The answer really is: It depends
1. Depending on the location and what you have other alternatives, including cost
2. Depending on the needs of business and SLA requirements in terms of latency, scalability, availability of services, etc.
Depending on the needs, there are more solutions out there that you can choose or blender and come to better suit your needs. I will not't see the world in terms of T1 and DS3. Think 3G, FIOS, cable, DSL, Ethernet, etc. ..
Think about what your needs and may ask more specific questions, including what they want to achieve, where, and when the budget. Then take advantage of consulting services at no cost from DS3-Bandwidth.com free RFQ (Request For Quote) ..... Bandwidth and research for the final solution.
For example .... You need to correct the following address to make intelligent decisions:
* Is the goal to run a video, VoIP or some other real time applications?
* Latency received what?
* Is application / mission critical services?
* What alternative should be provided in your area?
* How much are they and what is your budget?
* What should the business later this solution will need to meet?
* Where networks to connect? Is HE, point-to-point or MPLS?
* Do they expect growth of high pacing in the future? If the plan OC3 Bandwidth expansion into the possibility but did not go that route yet. It's too soon.
All these questions (and probably more) should be considered when otherwise the answer will come soon.
For example, a business can find enough to use the same DSL Internet Bandwidth cafeteria, while small businesses may be able to use the mission-DSL access key PBX and host system.
It really depends.
